Smooth Rhythm Dance Academy is an independent Hand Dance & Bop Dance Academy in the Washington DC metropolitan area. Founded in 2005 by certified instructor Alvin Prather, we are dedicated to preserving, promoting, and teaching the African American art form of Hand Dance as practiced in the Washington DC metropolitan area. We offer innovative and quality contemporary Hand Dance instruction (group and private), coaching, and demonstrations, with an emphasis on ‘lead & follow.’
