Lynton & Barnstaple Railway
Woody Bay is an original station on Lynton & Barnstaple Railway which opened in 1898 and closed in 1935. Owned by the L&BR Trust since 1995, what we have today is just the beginning of an exciting project to rebuild one of the world's most famous and picturesque narrow gauge railways. The railway re-opened in 2004 and has been operating a one-mile stretch of the original track since. The L&BR Trust is working on detailed plans to re-instate another eight miles of the railway in the next phase.
